Creation of Mapgears
The company was created following the restructuring of DM Solutions Group in Chicoutimi with 4 employees.
First involvement in the snowmobile world
First interactive map of snowmobile trails for the FCMQ.
Distinction: receiving the Sol Katz Award award
Daniel Morissette received this honor for his major contribution in the field of GIS and open source.
Opening of the Quebec office
The goal was to welcome new key employees while serving government clients.
Mapgears: The MapServer expert
The team supported their clients using MapServer, GDAL, OpenLayers and PostGIS and other open source technologies.
Launch of evTrails
An opportunity arose to meet the needs of NBFSC for their monitoring of snowmobile trails. This product will later become evTrails.
Start of collaboration with Ondago
This collaboration aimed to meet the mobile application needs for the evTrails product.
At the top of the charts
evTrails mobile apps became hugely successful, appearing at the top of the paid app charts for several weeks.
Mapgears and Fujitsu Consulting partnership
Efforts were pooled for the EMSA project in which the eVouala product was used.
Beginning of the evStreets product
Development of the new evStreets product with a first customer in the field of waste and residual materials collection.
Acquisition of Ondago
The 5 Ondago’s members joined the team following the acquisition by Mapgears of the assets of Créations Igloo Inc, a Quebec startup that launched the Ondago product in 2014.
